Pink and white dribble pendant by StephaniePride Pink and white dribble pendant by StephaniePride
Damn these things are hard to photograph!

This is a pink and white glass dribble (yes, pink, shut up Matt!) that I made a long time back.

It is made from cast glass and set in sterling silver. the cord is unwoven embroidery thread.

I made these by cutting a hole in a sheet of cardboard, lighting a candle and dripping wax through the hole until it closed up, then I set them in plaster, melted out the wax, filled up the cavity with bits of snapped millefiori cane and put them in the kiln. I was very happy with the way they turned out, they looked exactly the way I intended them to. Just like the beautiful wax sculptures that form on candlesticks after a while if you don't clean them between candles.

LoL, Thanks!

I maintain that pink is evil. It was not my intention to make a pink dribble. The cane I snapped up for this one looked like it was clear glass with a line of white running through the center, which I thought would look really cool...This is what I got back, There are actually white lines running through it, and the 'pink' is more transparent than it looks in the photo, but it's definitely pink... It tricked me. Deliberately I'm sure ;)

These really are not good photos... I'm trying to find a way of lighting them without losing the details.

Hehehe that's pretty funny, well even tho it's pink i think it turned out cool so at least it tricked you in a good way! :giggle:
I have so many problems taking photos of clay i can only guess how much harder glass would be to photograph.

Those are extremely pretty, and I'm not even terribly fond of pink.

Just how long, approx. or estimated, did this take?

*grins* In terms of actual work the settings took MUCH longer to make than the glass. Making the waxes took an hour at the most, and I made six in one go. Firing time was a day, but I didn't need to sit around watching it, and I sanded and polished them a bit when I got them back. They were certainly much easier to make than they look!
